Outlander Canceled After Season 8, Prequel Series Ordered by Starz

Starz has announced that the popular series Outlander will be renewed for an eighth and final season. The show, based on Diana Gabaldon's books, will consist of 10 episodes to bring Claire and Jamie's love story to a proper conclusion. However, fans of the Scottish franchise need not worry, as a prequel series titled Outlander: Blood of My Blood has been officially ordered.

This upcoming show will explore the love story of Jamie Fraser's parents. Showrunner Matthew B. Roberts will be involved in the prequel series, which will delve into a time when love was considered a luxury. In terms of the final season, it will be based on Gabaldon's book Written in My Own Heart's Blood and will follow the events of the eighth book in the series.
