Blue Bloods may seem male-dominated, but the women of the show are strong and important. In the 8th season finale, Vanessa Ray's character, Eddie Janko, was nervous to join the Reagan family dinner, but she held her own and became a confident member of the table.

Bridget Moynahan's character, Erin Reagan, challenges the men, both at the dinner table and in her role as bureau chief in the DA's office. Aasif Mandvi joins the cast as the district attorney, and David Zayas as the governor. Sami Gayle, who plays Erin's daughter, has bonded with Moynahan and Tom Selleck, who have been involved in her personal development.

Marisa Ramirez, who portrays Danny's longtime partner, Det. Maria Baez, joined the cast full-time after earning her spot through hard work.
