Even though the original wrapped up in 2017, and the more recent spin-off Legacies ended in 2022, the world of Mystic Falls is far from dead — at least according to those behind the scenes. The co-creator of the franchise, Julie Plec, recently reaffirmed that she and writing partners still have ideas for new stories, and all “anybody has to do is ask.
That leaves the door wide open — under the right circumstances — for a new spin-off. But what could that look like, and what are fans hoping the next chapter will deliver?
