Michael Jordan said he wouldn't have traded Shaquille O'Neal if he ran the Lakers: "You can't blame one guy"

In a recent interview with Cigar Aficionado, Michael Jordan stated that if he ran the Lakers, he wouldn't have traded Shaquille O'Neal. Despite the personal differences between O'Neal and Kobe Bryant, Jordan believes that the Lakers made a mistake by sending away their most dominant big man who had helped them win three championships.

Jordan also acknowledged that it takes two to tango, and both players were at fault for their feud. At the time, the NBA was a big man's league, and having a dominant center was crucial for success. Although the Lakers picked Bryant over O'Neal, both players went on to achieve more titles with new teammates.

However, many wonder what could have been if the Lakers had managed their star duo better.
