A lot of fans probably assumed the title change was just cleanup. A cosmetic tweak. Nothing more. But CBS quietly dropping the “Y:” and shifting the show from ** Y: Marshals ** to simply ** Marshals ** looks a lot more strategic than random.

Multiple entertainment outlets noted that the series was initially announced under the former title, then rebranded in early January 2026 before launch. CBS now uses the stripped-down name on its official series page, while trade coverage has consistently treated the shorter title as the current one.
