NBC Entertainment chairman, Paul Telegdy, has confirmed that Days Of Our Lives will be returning for a 56th season, despite rumors of cancellation after the entire cast was reportedly released from their contracts. The show's executive producer, Ken Corday, shared the news with production workers, but it has not been officially announced by the network.

The daytime soap opera has run for over 13,000 episodes since its debut in 1965 and follows the lives of three families in the fictional Midwest suburban town of Salem. It is one of the few remaining daytime soaps on the air.
