During an appearance on The View to promote his new show Extended Family, Cryer was asked if he would consider returning to his role as Alan Harper alongside his former co-star, Charlie Sheen.

His response was blunt: “Yeah, I don’t know how that happens. Charlie is doing a lot better now, which is wonderful. He and I have not spoken in a few years, but he’s doing a lot better, which obviously I’m very happy about.”
