As Outlander's series finale approached, IndieWire sat down with Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan to look back on what twelve years of playing Jamie and Claire Fraser had actually meant to them, beyond the show itself.

Balfe's answer was immediate and unguarded.

"When she's 80 years old," the interview noted, "she will remember her Outlander family." In her own words: "We have so much fun, we have so much love for each other. And it's not just the cast, it's our crew, I'll just think of the people.
