Jamie-Lynn Sigler says her recent appearance on Grey’s Anatomy felt deeply personal — and even “divinely orchestrated.”
The actress, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis more than two decades ago, guest-starred in the January 15 episode as Dr. Laura Kaplan, a highly respected urologist visiting Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital who is also living openly with MS.
“In the first couple of scenes, we don’t know that she has MS,” Sigler explains. “We don’t talk about it. And that’s very important representation. It doesn’t define who you are, and it doesn’t need to come up in every conversation.
