What Is the Sunday Night Football Theme Song?
In 2006, Pink was selected to record a pre-game theme song for NBC's Sunday night NFL game. She elected to rework Joan Jett's 1988 classic "I Hate Myself for Loving You" into a more football-friendly version — she recorded the song and a video to play ahead of the networks Sunday programming.
Then, in 2007, Faith Hill took over and put her own spin on the iconic track — a role she would fill for six seasons.
Enter Underwood, who has now carried the ball since 2013. Although she deviated from the well-recognized song, she has since returned to "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night," which she used most recently in 2023.
