You Can’t Unsee This: The Spooge & Skank Episode That Makes ‘Breaking Bad’ Too Real

In the Season 2 episode Peekaboo, viewers are dropped unflinchingly into a decaying world. Spooge and his partner Skank — junkies and scammers — live in a filthy, neglectful apartment, with a small child left unattended as the adults chase their next hit. When Jesse Pinkman breaks in to reclaim meth and money stolen from his dealer, what follows is a sequence of utter despair, violence, and squalor.

It doesn’t take long before things go horribly wrong: Spooge’s partner knocks Jesse out, steals his gun and drugs, and when Spooge tries to pry open a stolen ATM, his partner — angered by his “skank” insults — topples the heavy machine over and crushes him.
