Dave Rennie Outlines His ‘No Loyalties’ Approach As All Blacks Boss

Dave Rennie has wasted no time outlining the philosophy that will shape his tenure as All Blacks head coach — and it starts with what he calls a clear competitive “advantage.”

After weeks of speculation, New Zealand Rugby confirmed that Rennie will lead the national side through to the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.

Of Cook Islands heritage through his mother, the 62-year-old becomes the first All Blacks head coach with Pasifika ancestry — a significant milestone in New Zealand rugby history.

Currently contracted to Kobelco Kobe Steelers, Rennie will formally assume duties ahead of July’s Nations Championship Tests against France, Italy and Ireland once his club commitments conclude.
