At this point, the Yellowstone universe is no longer waiting to expand — it already has. Marshals is on the air, Dutton Ranch is arriving, The Madison has moved from announcement to real momentum, and 1944 still remains part of the franchise’s future conversation.
And yet the one project that once felt like the most obvious next step — 6666 — is still sitting in limbo. That is what makes it such an interesting angle now. The real question is no longer “When does 6666 premiere?” It is: why has the earliest long-promised spinoff become the one Sheridan’s universe still can’t bring to the screen? TV Insider noted as recently as November 2025 that there was still no official word from Paramount on whether 6666 was actively moving forward, even while other franchise titles kept advancing.
