Lung cancer has long been linked to smoking, but recent statistics are showing an unsettling trend: more and more non-smokers are being diagnosed with the disease. Around 43,000 new cases are reported every year in the UK alone, and lung cancer is now the third most common cancer diagnosis.
Historically, smoking was responsible for around 60% of lung cancer cases.
