A young couple’s future ended in tragedy after what police described as a preventable shooting involving a firearm. According to authorities, 22-year-old Landon Lowrance accidentally shot and killed his 21-year-old girlfriend, CloeRae McBrayer, while handling and pointing a gun at her.

Police said a friend of Lowrance called 911 at approximately 9:12 p.m. on September 16 and reported that Lowrance had accidentally shot his girlfriend inside a Fairbanks home.
