Former elite referee and ex-Irish referees boss Owen Doyle has publicly backed Rassie Erasmus and the Springboks’ coaching group in their growing opposition to proposed law trials, warning that South Africa could become World Rugby’s biggest obstacle to pushing through rapid changes.
Erasmus and his coaching staff recently released a three-part Shape of the Game discussion on YouTube, in which they analysed the current state of rugby, existing laws, and a series of experimental amendments being trialled in Super Rugby Pacific.
