The 45 year old Outlander actor shared in his recent Instagram documentary series: “His stock, which I can never tie myself. That’s the one piece of the costume I hated – was the stock. It’s just uncomfortable. It’s like wearing a tie to work.

“But for me, I always thought again, it should be a thing that’s quite loose that he wears it.

“He takes it off, he keeps it warm, maybe takes it off to bandage his hand or use it for washing with in the stream and then washes himself with it.

“Again, it’s a piece of practical clothing rather than just a costume.”
