Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes regrets killing off Kyle Chandler's character, Dylan Young, in the show's second season. Dylan was a member of the bomb squad who tragically died when a bomb exploded in his hands. Despite only appearing in two episodes, Dylan made an impact on viewers and even returned in season 3 to encourage Meredith to fight back after she drowned.

Rhimes admitted that Chandler pitched ideas on how Dylan could be saved, but she ultimately had to stick with the script that ended in his death.
