The Naked Truth: Real Talk About West Coast Swing exists because two people who have been in the WCS community for a combined total of more than fifty years decided that the conversations happening in private — in hotel corridors, in late-night social floor conversations, in the specific candor that emerges after midnight at a dance weekend — deserved to happen in public instead.

Deborah Szekely co-founded it. She is a former medical school student who left in her first year, waited tables at Denim and Diamonds in New York City, discovered WCS in 1995, and went on to win four US Open titles across a fifteen-year partnership with Robert Cordoba.
