Springbok Captain Exits at Her Peak

Springbok Women’s flanker and Isuzu Bulls Daisies captain Lusanda Dumke has made the difficult decision to step away from rugby due to ongoing health concerns.

At just 28, Dumke has already left an indelible mark on South African rugby, earning 33 Test caps and captaining the national side on three occasions.

Most recently, she led the Isuzu Bulls Daisies to their third consecutive Women’s Premier Division title in 2025, a remarkable achievement that underscored her influence on and off the field.

Support from the National Setup

Springbok Women performance coach Swys de Bruin praised Dumke’s contributions to the team and showed full support for her decision to prioritise her health.
