Former England forward to captain the Hurricanes in Super Rugby Pacific

Brad Shields has been announced as the captain of the Hurricanes for the upcoming Super Rugby Pacific season. Shields, a former England back-row forward, previously represented the Hurricanes in 103 games from 2012 to 2018. He also had a stint as captain in 2018 when regular skipper Dane Coles was injured.

All Blacks duo Asafo Aumua and Jordie Barrett will serve as the team's vice-captains. Shields expressed his excitement and honor at leading the team, and he intends to lead by example and challenge the team for better performances.

Head coach Clark Laidlaw commended Shields' leadership qualities and his desire to constantly improve.
