A Hotel Housekeeper Found Room 14 Perfectly Made — 3 Days After the Guest Had Checked Out
The Caldwell Inn is a small family-run hotel in the Scottish Borders with 18 rooms. It has operated continuously since 1934. The current owner, Margaret Dunne, inherited it from her mother and has managed it for 22 years.
She has seen most things. She was not prepared for what her housekeeper reported on the morning of April 7th, 2019.
Room 14 had been vacated three days earlier. The guest — a solo traveler who had stayed two nights and paid in cash — had checked out normally.
