After twenty years of competing at the championship level of West Coast Swing, Ben Morris has developed what experienced observers describe as an almost complete anticipatory map of the dance — an internalized model of what any given follower is likely to do in any given moment, built from thousands of hours of competitive and social dancing with hundreds of different partners.
