After Barbarian, Zack Kregger decided to swerve right into another “what the hell is going on” kind of story—and boy, Weapons delivers on that front. The setup is instantly bizarre: a group of kids Naruto-run out of class at 2:17 a.m.
Julia Garner plays the teacher left holding the emotional bag—and the entire town’s pitchforks. Her “survivor’s guilt” is more like “survivor’s blame,” and Garner sells the tragedy without slipping into melodrama.
