Long before sold-out arenas and a Eurovision trophy, Victoria De Angelis was a teenager in Rome who picked up a guitar at age eight and moved to bass by seventh grade. That early passion for music would eventually lead her to co-found one of the most successful rock bands of the past decade — Måneskin — alongside guitarist Thomas Raggi, whom she met in middle school.
The pair later connected with singer Damiano David in high school, and drummer Ethan Torchio joined after answering a Facebook ad the group posted looking for a fourth member. What started as busking on the streets of Rome's Colli Portuensi district turned into a serious project by 2016, when the band settled on its name — a nod to De Angelis's half-Danish heritage, since "Måneskin" means "moonlight" in Danish.
