The Classic Division in West Coast Swing is one of the most demanding competitive formats in partner dance. Couples choreograph routines that must contain at least 80% true swing content, are judged on musicality, connection, technical execution, and artistic presentation — and are typically prepared over months of rehearsal.

PJ Turner and Mia Pastor have competed in the Classic Division together since 2022. Their partnership began after COVID disrupted PJ's previous competitive arrangements, and Mia — based in Connecticut, PJ in Tennessee — built their routines across the physical distance, rehearsing in intensive concentrated sessions when their schedules aligned.
