The chandeliers in Windsor Castle have seen a lot in 1,000 years – coronations rehearsed, prime ministers terror-nervous at their first bow, tiaras of every shape and sparkle. But on December 3, 2025, even that gilded ceiling seemed to tilt toward one woman: Catherine, Princess of Wales, walking into the state banquet for the German president in a blazing blue Jenny Packham cape gown and the largest tiara she has ever worn.
Balanced on her newly regrown hair was Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet – a ruby-and-diamond monster with around 2,600 diamonds, unseen in public for twenty years and, until that night, worn only by queens.
So was this just a fashion mic-drop? Or was Windsor sending a louder message: Kate is back, the Crown is still blazing, and we’re not going anywhere?
