1. You're always out of breath on sets that shouldn't be that demanding. Iron deficiency, even before it becomes clinical anemia, reduces oxygen-carrying capacity in red blood cells. Early iron insufficiency produces exactly this symptom — disproportionate breathlessness during exercise that doesn't make sense given your fitness level.
2. Your pumps are weak or nonexistent. The muscle pump during training requires adequate blood volume, nitric oxide availability, and glycogen stores. Chronic dehydration, very low carbohydrate intake, and insufficient nitrate-rich foods (beets, leafy greens) all blunt the pump — a signal that these resources are below training requirements.
