South Western Districts’ rising star Liam Lightly has officially joined the SA U18 ‘A’ team for the upcoming U18 International Series, following an injury to Pumas forward Franko Rossouw. This call-up is not only a significant personal achievement for the Oakdale High School loose forward, but also a sign of the increasing depth and quality within South Western Districts’ youth rugby development pipeline.

From Oakdale to National Selection: Lightly's Rapid Rise

Liam Lightly has been one of the most consistent performers in the SWD youth ranks over the past season. Playing at number eight, he made a name for himself during the U18 Craven Week tournament, where SWD delivered one of their most memorable performances in recent years.
