Kelly Monaco, a cherished presence on the daytime soap opera "General Hospital," is set to leave the show later this year. With two decades of memorable performances, her departure marks the end of an era for both the series and its fans.

Monaco has played the role of Sam McCall on General Hospital since 2003.

Previously, she portrayed Livvie Locke on the soap Port Charles. She was nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards for the series in 2003 and General Hospital in 2006.

Monaco competed in the first season of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars 19 years ago, ultimately winning the coveted Mirror Ball trophy.
