Recent seasons of The Crown have faced criticism, particularly regarding the portrayal of Princess Diana's death in the final season. Actor Dominic West, who plays Prince Charles, addressed the controversial scene featuring Diana's "Ghost," explaining that it was a successful dramatic device to convey Charles's inner thoughts.

Creator Peter Morgan clarified that the "Ghost" scenes were not intended to be supernatural but rather to show how vividly someone who has recently passed can remain in the minds of those who loved them. All seasons of The Crown, including the first four episodes of the series finale, are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
