FX's historical epic miniseries, Shōgun, based on the 1975 novel by James Clavell, has received rave reviews from critics ahead of its release. The series depicts the clash between cultures in 17th century Japan when an English sailor is shipwrecked, bringing with him technology that could impact local political struggles.
