Shaquille O'Neal on guarding Allen Iverson: "I could've blocked his shot multiple times, I just didn't want to"

Shaquille O'Neal admitted that he had a soft spot for certain opponents, including Allen Iverson, who he admired the most. O'Neal allowed Iverson to get to the rim instead of blocking his shot because he enjoyed watching him cross over and appreciated his determination to be the best player on the court.

Despite never winning a ring, Iverson had a huge impact on the league during their era, and O'Neal respected him for it. While O'Neal gave Iverson a pass during regular season games, he was all business come Playoff time, as evidenced by the 2001 NBA Finals when the Lakers beat the 76ers despite Iverson's best efforts.
